Re: guitarix LV2
Well, that's no wonder, it is the same.falkTX wrote:Looks exactly the same to me![]()
It is the same UI, from the same bundle, just that we have now two different amp models in the bundle ( the very same gxamp.so), both supported by the same UI (gxamp_gui.so).
To indicate which amp model is loaded, we use a other skin.
It makes no difference from the handling if we use a image for the labels or use plain text labels. Just, we need to have the images. So, if I have nice label images, with need 3d text or so, they will be added in a minute.falkTX wrote:Can we get some little text fx in there so it looks like part of the pic and not written on top?
(some bevel or maybe just a little transparency)
Because the widget is scalable, and the position of the knobs may vary (depending on dpi settings), I wouldn't fix the label in the skin, we need a image for every label. But lately, I'm not a designer peer se, I just try my best.
I'm not a fan of those markers, if you wone know the exact value, just make a right click on the knob, that will pop up a spin box were you ca see and set the value you wont by keyboard or mouse as you wish.falkTX wrote:Also some little min-middle-max "markers"? would be nice too (those circular drawings usually around a knob to indicate its value).
I guess you are not a guitar player at all.falkTX wrote:(Note that I have 0% experience with guitarix though)

Well, they looking quite nice.
One can see that here a designer have put it hands on.
But to be honest, guitar amplifier didn't look like that, to get a impression were I'm talking of, have a look at that

I just link it here, because I have no idea about the license this picture is under.
If I get you right, you do the frame work, so that "your" designer could easy implement his work, or at least that you could implement his work.
I'm just on the same way, as I said, I'm not a designer, but I'm doing the frame work and try my best on design
.
But guitarix was ever a open project, were a couple of people have been involved, so lets see what the future brings . . .

Re: guitarix LV2
one more in the bundle: tube= 6c16 tonestack= bassman cabinet= 1x15

and yes, it's again the same (Ui::construct)
but sound-wise (dsp) it will be more attracted the bass players here
slowly I get the fun in LV2

Re: guitarix LV2
What did you move to LV2, is that the new faust -> LV2 functionality?
It would be nice if we could use Guitarix LV2 (full featured) in jalv.

Re: guitarix LV2
No, thus is a "hand-made" wrapper which gives me easy access to our dsp classes.studio32 wrote:What did you move to LV2, is that the new faust -> LV2 functionality?
Truly, we have create a lot of them in faust, but not all of them (for some it is simply not possible with the current faust)
I have think about that, before I have started the wrap, lately, I fail to see much sense in that, if you would use guitarix-full, just use it, why the hell you would run it in jalv?studio32 wrote:It would be nice if we could use Guitarix LV2 (full featured) in jalv.
I understand that guitarist's request LV2 plugins from the amp's and some of the plugs we have made in guitarix, but if you would use the full possibility's from guitarix (ultra fast preset switching, midi controllable, plugin loading/unloading, . . ), well, then guitarix must be the host.
Those worker threads in LV2 for example, be a way to slow for stuff like that.

Then we can finally use guitarix with NSMbrummer wrote:why the hell you would run it in jalv?.

Re: guitarix LV2
Some observations:
- is it correct that the Cabinet and Presence settings do not affect the sound?
- In Qtractor I can't use panning on a track that contains a GxAmplifier plugin. If I do so the output becomes silent when I pan completely to the left or right. Also when I set the panning back to 0 again I get a huge amount of xruns.
- In Qtractor I get a lot of xruns when making connections from/to the buses to which I routed the output of the tracks containing a GxAmplifier plugin.

Re: guitarix LV2
hey Jeremy, Hermann I think knows about the cabinet and presence knobs. He told me he'll be fixing that in January as he's away for work.

No, it's a bug , hopeful it's fixed nowAutoStatic wrote:Some observations:

Seems to be a denormal problem, please use the --optimization configure flag.AutoStatic wrote:[*]In Qtractor I can't use panning on a track that contains a GxAmplifier plugin. minimal requirement are the cxxflags -msse -mfpmath=sse to enable denormal protection via _MM_SET_FLUSH_ZERO_MODE()

Re: guitarix LV2
Can I use the --cxxflags configure option for that? Or is it better to set it in the wscript file?brummer wrote:minimal requirement are the cxxflags -msse -mfpmath=sse to enable denormal protection via _MM_SET_FLUSH_ZERO_MODE()
