really glad I found this site can't wait to learn more about recording thru my linux box. And maybe spread some knowledge to those who are newiber than i.
I'm currently running ubuntu studio 8.04 rt with a M-Audio Firewire Solo.
I've recorded a bunch of stuff through Jack and Ardour.

How do you like that Firewire Solo? I just bought one last week and was enjoying it until I made the mistake of booting into Windows (my laptop is dual boot) and installing the Windows driver. It updated the firmware and now, in Linux, there's no sound from the outputs unless I boot into Windows first and then reboot into Linux.
Have you run into the same issue? If not, don't hook it up to a Windows box!!
