new soundcloud subproject

Post by Arpee Ong »

hi guys, here i go again with a shameless plug :)

i recently created a new soundcloud account for my non-originals (remixes/mashups/overdubs) which i would like to share with you guys:

http://soundcloud.com/project_sandbox

current content is less technical than my personal experimental project (http://soundcloud.com/arpee_ong), but shares the same open source stack framework i've been using.

all the content so far is recorded via ardour2, and performed live via mixxx (with the help of korg nanopad and numark mixtrack). i add a bit of overlay via zynAddSubFX and hydrogen.

this project is live-performance centric (dj).

(Sorry guys if this is not the right place to post this.. kindly point me to the correct forum..)

Thanks guys, I hope you'll enjoy.

..and this is one of the tracks' a bit alternate version performed live :), my minimal ghetto setup..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nZx9jTLUuI

being able to map 1/16, 1/8, 1/2, 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 beatloops came in pretty handy, [un]fortunately i had to upgrade to beta to get the feature as the latest stable lacks it.

hope you guys will enjoy, will appreciate any feedback

used numark mixtrack, akai mpd18 and korg nanopad for this one.

numark mixtrack was mapped normally. mpd18 was mapped to the beat-loops while the nanopad was mapped to hotcues. Used mpd18 to loop certain beats on different measures while i used nanopad to traverse to several parts of the tracks.

thanks for feedback dednikko :)
