The Goelro Plan

Post by danboid »

Here are a few rough demos recorded under Ardour featuring me on drums

http://soundcloud.com/the-goelro-plan

I know there is a lot of room for improvement in these demos as they were recorded in a shed on a budget of £0 but hopefully some of you will like some of the songs?

We spent SO long trying to think of a name for that band, which is hopefully coming to the end of a long limbo period now. I'm not sure I like Goelro Plan. We were called 'I Am Ten Ninja' a name I was perfectly happy with.

I've been working on some of my own stuff recently so I'll be posting something else to SC shortly..

Hey db,

Nice stuff, I think my fave is Nico but I enjoyed them all, nice drumming as well and I liked the drum sounds within the context of the material, I'm guessing you're not going for a terribly 'produced' drum sound. I thought the mixes were quite good too as-is. Thanks for sharing!

Hi GMaq!

Thanks for giving us a listen and for giving some feedback! As I said, I really wouldn't want these recordings getting an official release on CD or whatever in their current state - they really need to be re-recorded in full.

My drum sound is fkn shameful really and thats exactly why I've not shared these recordings until now as they've been on the net for a while now. Said band has never become a serious concern really, just an occasional hobby project and we have always been very limited for recording time - that combined with working in undesirable acoustic conditions with cheap gear and having me in the band to make everything totally bleeding-edge unstable so its all very rushed and "that'll have to do" type stuff - pretty punk in that respect then :)

Thanks Gmaq!
