He he... One could almost expect Borat waving in there. I mean, it's so 'typical' and so is the music I find.
On the Georgian front, I really like The Shin. Lots of music in there, and fun.

Sometimes those restaurant happenings can be quite fun. I remember in the mountains in Syria, an open air restaurant where the band, before the prime time with folks dancing, were having some jamming' fun with the violin soaring over the hills. Unique.

That stuff is so great. I don't get in to everything Zorn has done but I like a lot of it a great deal.

Yes, it's great music played by great musicians. I prefer the string ensembles to larger bands such a Bar Korhba and the large, electric, Masada bands. The essence is in those string quartets and trios. And yes, some of Zorn material is a bit harsh and is more meant like one-time existential statements.

Canadian Native artist Kinnie Starr. Her CD "Tidy", her second in 1996, is excellent, full of character and grit. She later moved on to a more mainstream approach. Her music might be a bit difficult to pinpoint on youtube so here are a few links, especially the links to songs off "Tidy".
