Bookmarks, cue notes, labels on tracks?

Post by vector »

HI
Ive looked all over the manual and searched everywhere maybe Im blind.
Is there a way to bookmark a spot on the timeline and add a note or label. Really like this ability in Audacity to add label at the cursor.. so useful for so many reasons.. indicating chorus/ verse/ solo beginnings or even just a tricky spot that needs work and I must come back to etc.
I constantly loose my place :(
What would I know I'm just the bass player

There are 'markers'. There is a Maker Editor as well.
Just above the timeline click while holding Shift (I think Shift).
Green flags will appear on the timeline.
Open the Marker Editor from the menu to add names to these labels.

Just above the timeline click while holding Ctrl+ Shift (I think) to erase a marker,
or delete it from the Marker Editor.

[EDIT] And there are shortcut keys to jump back and forth among them in the arranger, F5 and F6 I believe.

As for other kinds of markers and lyrics and midi meta text events,
there is/was a recent discussion about lyrics (and a fix for not importing them)
on the project git issues page. Some ideas were tossed around and I've had a few ideas
over the years about displaying/editing all those different meta text events.
