Linux Powered Mobile Devices' is now usable, thanks a lot! (solved)
Ah, didn't notice/realize/remember this was broken, perhaps I spoke a bit too soon then, sorry. Let's see if it picks up ;).

Talking about virtual music projects? I just looked at it. When it started, I tried to participate to some project, but found out that I could not do something which was good enough. Anyway I think it is good idea still, but my skills and available time are not at the level I could participate.

How about a catch-all 'Cross-Platform' area?
Popular topics, linvst and wine included, would keep getting bumped up,
so it would manage itself naturally. Some popular/useful titles
have linux/mac/win these days, and quite a few linux/win
pairings too.
Cheers

Fair enough. I do not have the time now, but will do by the end of this weekend.
I remember. Was busy. Will try to get them by the end of the day.

virtual music projects
Hey, Finotti and I had fun working on a project together... I liked how it turned out. I keep thinking that I should do another one there, I just haven't had quite the right project come together enough that I feel like I can collaborate.

We sure did! It's too bad that there is not much going on that subforum any more...

There can be many factors that influences the participation in virtual music projects. One is style. Not everyone likes all styles, and the ones that can say they can play in all styles have to be truly professionals in order to characterize appropriately every style to make the contribution worthwhile and not just a bunch of notes played in the right key.

And that's something else: to elevate a sketch eg. to contribute not only as filling the spaces so to speak but to move it forward in a meaningful, if not risky way.

And then there's also the communication level for expressing music with words. For instance me, I do not know that much about theory. So if someone finds that it's stepping way too low to actually say which notes are used instead of using say, D min sus4 aug13 (if that exists) then there can be a problem. You mean I should learn more theory ? Won't happen.

And then there's time. Not that much time ? So let's instead contribute some filling notes. Sounds good, sounds comfortable, can't go wrong. But it is only filling spaces.

And then there's the keeping the ball rolling. If weeks and months go by between contribution then the steam is off.

Apart from that I'm not to my 435th sketch in a bit more than 2.5 years, so I can certainly post one, as I did previously, to see if anyone is interested.

There seems to be 'Running non-linux software' in forum, but for me it says 'You do not have the required permissions to read topics within this forum.'

Ah - yes that's the one I created based on this thread. Ugh phpbb permissions tripping me up again. I tried setting them again, did that have the desired effect?
