dedicated subforum for foreign software on wine issues
there are quite a lot of topics here and there about running non-linux audio software under wine.
the proposition is to make a dedicated place for discussing such kind of issuses.
running windows software is the popular practice, and everyone here knows it. (btw, i'm doing it myself too.) moreover, windows software dominates on the market, and everyone here knows that too.
but that's not the reason to mix things up in every single subforum, because linuxmusicians is not KVR, it's about linux.
that's why i would suggest to keep discussing foreign software issues separated.

I suspect that we will keep on seeing questions regarding using windows software in wine, so it would make sense to collect this in one place.

Re: dedicated subforum for foreign software on wine issues
Sorry for leaving this topic for such a long time. As there seems to be interest I'd be happy to introduce this subforum.
Could we identify 10 or so threads that can be moved into it, so we can give it a 'flying start'?

I sure think so. Personally I'm not much interested in that approach either, so having a dedicated subforum would be great so I know to ignore everything in it.tavasti wrote: Is software supporting windows VSTs regarded such?

Threads specifically about windows VSTs sound like they'd belong there as well, yeahtavasti wrote:Is software supporting windows VSTs regarded such?

Re: dedicated subforum for foreign software on wine issues
Why does this even matter? Can I block a subforum if I want to? How? Can I subscribe to one? How? What happens then? Do I get email notifications for it? The FAQ are mum about this.
