Refugee from Windows here.
I am using Ubuntu Studio 14.04.1 which comes with MuseScore 1.3 already installed. The stable version of MuseScore 2.0 is now released and I want to upgrade to this version. The Software Centre won't do it yet--it is stuck at v1.3
The MuseScore download page:
http://musescore.org/en/download
recommends adding the repository at mscore-stable PPA to the Software Updater "Other Sources" list which I have done. This always has the latest version of the software.
https://launchpad.net/~mscore-ubuntu/+a ... ore-stable
My question is: now that I have added the repository, what code do I need to use in the terminal to upgrade to MuseScore 2.0? Or will the regular software updater now automatically upgrade it next time it runs?
Any help appreciated.

They did it. The PPA now has backported everything for Trust 14.04…! I just installed it and it works!

Re: Upgrading to MuseScore 2.0 stable
The regular Ubuntu software updater has just upgraded MuseScore to v2.0 on my Ubuntu Studio 14.04.1 system and it appears to work OK
The person who released it did say (in the MuseScore forum) that some updates to Qt had been necessary for Ubuntu 14.04. He had tried it out on his system and didn't detect any broken programmes but said to report any problems on other people's systems in the MuseScore forum (see link to thread below). Could also report them here too.

Re: Upgrading to MuseScore 2.0 stable
Hello.
I use Debian 8, and I have only Musescore 1.3.
Possible to install version 2 - somehow?
A step-by-step instruction needed.
Thank you,
Composer
