Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
There is still guitarix 0.29 in debian/sid, so those dependency’s aren't new.
Indeed libbluetooth-dev is optional and only needed when you would control the guitarix engine with your handy/tablet.
libzita-resampler-dev is included in the tar ball and will be used internal if no proper version will be found on the build system. The same is true for zita-convoler.
But eigen3 and lrdf are not optional.

Okay, busted!falkTX wrote:btw, there seems to be a new dependency on 0.30 - lilv.
(I guess that's because of the lv2 hosting code)
On the road again.

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Hi everyone,
I once had VOPM running fine, but I can't remember what I used to open it. As it's an *.so file, what would be the best application? (Carla (beta version 2) doesn't open it, and says it's third party app..)

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Ok; but I'm using a 32-bit, and when I tried to open it in Carla it crashed.falkTX wrote:IIRC VOPM-linux has a 32bit plugin port made by the jucetice guy.
(it uses old vstsdk and can't be built as 64bit)
if you're running 64bit, you need to install the 32bit bridge to load it in carla:Then do a plugin scan again, this time for linux 32bit + vst.Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install carla-bridge-linux32:i386

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
I can't remember now where I got it, I thought it was in the repos somewhere. But it's not really important, other than just knowing why it wasn't opening correctly..falkTX wrote:Where did you got your binary/source?
I'm not sure if it's worth spending much time with VOPM,
wasn't this the one that the author decided to not release source after a certain point?

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
This is quite tangential, but clarifying many months later: iOS applications can't be in the Apple App Store under GPL, but the developer can still release under GPL and also release to the App Store, but to do the separate licensing, they couldn't just accept commits from others under GPL, they'd need a CLA. But as long as all copyright holders accept putting out under Apple's terms, they can also release the same code under GPL elsewhere. Anyway, still: DAMN APPLE! (This is why I moved to GNU/Linux in part! Screw Apple! ARG!).falkTX wrote:afaik that's not going to happen.wolftune wrote:Before you just ask for redistribution, ask for it to be made open source!
it's the same with sunvox, pixitracker and his other tools.
having iOS (iPhone) versions means the application can't be GPL.
there's also an issue with the gui toolkit it uses, but I don't know or remember details.
(I just finally tried Virtual ANS out of curiosity. It's neat. No need to package it, it's just a standalone binary.)

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
I just noticed Nootka is quite out of date. On my system, I only have it from the Kubuntu packages and not from KXStudio. 1.0.1 is the latest stable and should be packaged, thanks!
