Midi keyboard works in LMMS but Muse can not see it *SOLVED*

Post by das-drei-hund »

Hi

I thought I'd have a shot at Muse sequencer but for some reason, following the first tutorial on there web site, Muse does not find my USB keyboard (evolution MK 245). I know the keyboard works as LMMS has no problems seeing it and it works well. I've search but can't seem to find anything, was wondering if anyone could help? I think I'm missing something obvious.

My systems:
Dreamstudio 64bit (with XFCE4 desktop)
Advent, i5, 6GM ram

cheers

Mark

Not sure but LMMS might be running with ALSA and so naturally sees the keyboard. Muse might be using JACK. To fix this you might need to enable an AlSA JACK MIDI bridge. There might be a button somewhere as there is for KXstudio. In any case just typing a2jmidid -e in the terminal always works for me.

Yes aprzekaz is right, muse is using jack-midi by default, but it can forced to use alsa with muse2 -A
