RT Kernel for Linux Mint 12.

What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

RT Kernel for Linux Mint 12.

Post by Chipfryer »

Hi guys, long time no see.

I've got the linux studio finally working, but have to say Linux Mint helped a great deal since it is built very solidly.
At present I have kernel: 3.0.0-12-generic
***** I'm looking for a stable RT KERNEL release for this distro. I did post the link for everyone some years ago, sadly I cannot find it here anymore. I lost them when a hard drive died some time ago.
So far I am very pleased with how things are going and am now totally on Linux for just about everything including work.

These days, most people seem happy enough with the low-latency kernel, which is easily available from ubuntu.

Hi there, thanks for the reply. I went along to Launchpad but there was a problem with signup.
Went here and installed the PPA
https://launchpad.net/~bojo42/+archive/rt

It still hasn't added the repo to synaptic when using 'linux-rt' search command. I've rebooted too.
I remember there were 3 files I installed some time ago too.
Anyway, I'll figure it, I only need this of course for Midi processing.

Thanks again - Chippy

Hi peeps, sorted thankfully, no xruns, and even rosegarden is working like a dream.
I came across this link in an old archive:
http://www.ubuntubuzz.com/2012/03/real- ... buntu.html
It took me a few years to get my head around things, have the time, but I can finaly say, and thankfully. I do not NEED Windows. 8)

Thank you for your help in the past too.
Best wishes

Chippy
