I just want to say Big Thank You to @geoffrey for all the work he is putting on this driver and GUI app. This thread (plus the specs, of course) was the reason for me to try one of these new interfaces. The previous one was also good, but from time to time I had to switch to my emergency-Windows partition, and that bothered me immensely. I mean,. not just that, but the fact of having to find workarounds because the manufacturer didn't care about Linux.

And it's not that Focusrite cares immensely or officially, but they care unofficially, and then Geoffrey clearly cares a lot. This has made all the difference. He has helped me figure out the installation process (not the easiest right now, but worth the effort) and, more than that, he has patiently answered all my questions, half of them having nothing specific about his software but being generic questions about routing, PCMs, standalone mode, and stuff.

FWIW (and that ain't enough to buy @geoffrey the urn and more of coffee he deserves):

The choice Focusrite has made to give @geoffrey hardware to support his work on both the UI and the kernel driver for their hardware is the only reason I have to consider buying a newer version of Focusrite hardware to replace (eventually) the V1 18i20 interface I currently use: I would otherwise be dumping it off on the first willing non-Linux user I could find, and migrating to a manufacturer unafraid to give even minimal support to Linux users.

Had anyone tested the new FW for the 18i20 MK4 that unlocks 16 ADAT inputs?

Wow, that is great news. Is there such a firmware for the Gen3 18i20 as well?

No such luck. 4th Gen 18i20 only.
