Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?
In another topic, I brought this up, maybe appreciated here, Joss Stones 'Total World Tour', where she connects with a local band and learns one of their songs, there are some great duets, harmonies, and delightful ethnic bands and singers. These are live, mostly outdoor performances, and Joss does a fabulous job of integrating with the various songs. and there are many more on youtube, if you like them.

For some low stress, fun, and a little cooking education, I enjoy Brandt Peachers Florida fishing videos, catch, clean and cook...
I put on some of my vacation music, the 'Tracking Happy' collection that is a pleasant backing to the scenery and action.
(lots of 'free plays' on the collections, with the individuals at youtube, spotify and friends...

listening to now
"video world" album track #2. "falling backwards"
from:
https://archive.org/details/video-world
this is for whoever likes 1970's electronic music. with that expensive "gum" synthesizer and others.
most of this album is quite good. however after track #4 it stops being elektro. goes into ambient/classical.
"dreams on diskette" album track #3. "80s detective show".
from:
https://archive.org/details/dreams-on-diskette-pyl9br
interesting album. some chiptunes. some is tossable. especially the songs with filenames too long.

the title track to:

track #9 is a listen to those looking for a bit of humor.
too bad this guy uses vulgar slang to name some of his tracks.
10 day programs
artist: dfsfn
i got this from "archive-dot-org" but unfortunately the mp3 tag data doesn't have the address from that site. has this one though:
https://abunchofmusic.bandcamp.com
this is like vaporware or synth-pop i wish there was more of. entirely original music. derrived from funk or not. i liked the first two songs. the second one has tr-707 drums which is my favorite drum machine by roland. although the hihats suck. that's why on edirol-vsc which came with cakewalk music creator. on windows xp. those sounds were replaced by those that sounded to me like tr-909. i liked the "modded" tr-707 drums which were weird. created by richard (p.) james audio design, from an issue of computer music magazine.
the fourth and eighth songs are louder than the rest of the album.
one more thing. i downloaded this zip file. which file roller refused to deal with. just use winrar windows gui to extract from it. cannot use "rar" program. even linux native version because that only deals with "rar" format.
THECONFIDENTIALFREQUENCIES20130208.mp3
this was from "archive-dot-org." would have to search for it. it seems to be a radio program for electronic music. this starts with trip-hop which has a bunch of people speaking from movies. then it goes into ambient beats. a lot like one of the mixes by andrew duke cognition audioworks. done almost 20 years ago in canada. around 13 minutes ambient-tarnce. which is similar to stuff by "schall" netlabel from belgium. too bad that after 24 minutes. this collection begins to get somewhat political and popular.

Nils Frahm is in town and I'm going to his concert on Friday. Greatly looking forward to that.
Currently listening to his excellent 2018 album "All Melody" - https://nilsfrahm.bandcamp.com/album/all-melody
And here's a video of an awesome concert in Paris last year - Nils Frahm - Live at the Philharmonie de Paris - ARTE Concert

listening to now
"salt water" by fellirium. album: rememberance
https://archive.org/details/fellirium_remembrance
if you wanted wind chimes and tambourines. you got them here. 16 minutes of easy listening.
"fiju" by yoni den. track #3 from album: lone and level sands
https://archive.org/details/lone-and-level-sands-pdlxvn
this is a pretty good album. sort of electro-pop. artist seems to be involved a lot into fm synthesis. which is my favorite type. however some of the songs drag on and on. such as the second track. to me that should have been curtailed to three minutes. otherwise ok.
the track #9 "gutr" and track #10 "vijo" remind me of work by clatterbox. but which have sinewave synth too loud. no good to listen to for somebody who is intensely angry.
"could have been" first track by copywrong. album: 20 minutes into the future.
https://archive.org/details/twenty-minu ... ure-wk9vrb
it cannot be avoided. to talk about the song by tiffany with the same name. such a big deal was made how young she was when her album came out. yet she's (and debbie gibson is) about one year older than me. this song has an intense synth and is not like the other song.
this synth-pop record was done only three years ago. track #8 has an interesting name. maybe a woman wouldn't like "birth of liquid pleyades" which is my favorite track by tangerine dream. bought "zeit" record only for the original full version. although i also liked "book of dreams" album version. too bad atlas' daughters should have had much more glory. but inherited his lack of intellect.
track #6 could be thrown into "kaleidoscope" album by dj food. like ninja tune breakbeat jazz-classical.
stay away from track #7. if you are seriously drunk from ancient rhythm machines. yes "bossa nova" rhythm was my favorite from realistic concertmate-500 keyboard. which was also casio mt-500 or something like that. had organ-type "synthesis." allowed amplitude envelope changed to bizarre configurations. also allowed sampling for a few seconds. yeah.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?
listening to now
some of this stuff was heard on valentine's day toward the end of that month. while i actually have had no personal internet. so "listening to now" doesn't really apply "now." but because i wanted to make these posts soon after checking out things for you all. i am purposely restricting myself to netlabel stuff found on web archive. otherwise i would have to tell you about ancient tracker modules recently dumped into the mod archive.
the following zip file was a pain in the ***.
track #3 by lost cascades. album: crystal sun.
https://archive.org/details/crystal-sun-wvmb8v
nice record. but some people feel they have to decorate music tracks visually with unicode junk. this album claimed to have 21 tracks. i was lucky to get 16 of them or so. because the zip file had errors. i rebuilt it with winrar. but that program didn't extract the filenames correctly. this is not even an asian writing system employed here. which vexxed me.
also especially the last two songs. the longest mp3 files in playback. each one is like three or four songs which were packaged. it was as if the artist(s) had a contest going on.
wave my soul. track #3 by frame. album: new horizons
https://enoughrecords.scene.org
the only problem i have with this artist is his/her/their handle. they must be big fans of shuttle358. i bought "frame" album on itunes. also have "understanding wildlife" on cd, which is click-classical. the title track on "frame" is not for people who hate songs without beats. not for those impatient for things to happen in music and anywhere else. you would have to be a woman and my close friend for me to describe to you in detail what i feel when i hear it. i have created my own song. out of "broom" which is the next track on that album. not really the same sounds but the same general feeling.
this is an album of ambient beats. sort of like the orb or banco de gaia. but this song i name above is somewhat milder. what a shame from track #5 on this is a foul shot for me.
