Going to try wine, winehq. Recently in a thread here on the forum was warned that version 10 would not work and some older v9.?? should instead still be used. This thread here confirms version 10 would work. I suspect it is all about the details, and therefore ask you, please, which exact subversion of 10 should I go for? I would highly prefer stable, but maybe posts above refer to a subversion from staging?

Which exact wine version are you speaking about, please?

Yabridge not working with wine after 9.21 and I'm not use yabridge I'm use lintvst and linvst3 who work fine with wine 10

Well... Yabridge does work with any version of Wine (Staging or "regular"). However, some VST's have troubles with their graphical user interface (GUI) if you use a Wine version > 9.21 if I understood correctly. It is unknown if Robbert v/d H., Yabridge's (sole) developer, is working on this. He's probably got very busy job now and the re-write of his source code (if at all possible) is probably gonna take more time than he's got.

We Linux Musicians should compare LinVST and YAbridge concerning one or more VST's that have troubles with their GUI. If I understand the web page of LinVST3 correctly, then that too has quirks/troubles w/ certain VST3 GUI's. I don't know if Linvst is really that different from Yabridge... :?:

Yes, I may install Native Access 2 on new wine 10.x release after install Nobara or Fedora.

1.Fedora , Nobara or other linux version using Wine-tkg but not wine-staging or wine-stable from Winehq.
2.New version of Native Access will erase the downloaded ISO file, if it cannot be mounted and install by Native Access 2.
We may try to rename the instrument ISO file during downloading process. Then the ISO file will be keep in folder.
We can mount and install the files.
3.From a end user view, maybe Linvst3 is a solution.
4.Do you install the Kontakt 8 player without problem?

For my information: does Native Acces install/work with Yabridge or does it only work with Linvst?

Test platform and result.
1.Fedora 41 (Nobara based on Fedora 41)
a.Default wine version is 10.4
b.Install Native Access 2,but fail.
c.Find the Native Instruments Daemon v.1.23 within
the installed directory.
d. Install Daemon, then install Native Access 2, it works.
Login and we may find Instruments.
e.Try to install Kontakt 8 player, go through whole process
system reply install successful.
But there is no Kontakt 8 player.

2.Linux mint 22.1 and Avlinux 23.5
a.Origial wine-staging version is 9.21, using yabridge v5.1.0
b.Upgrade to wine-staging 10.x, open Reaper daw.
c.Add new track, add new instrument.
I may open Kontakt player, but UI is disabled.
Spitfire player is the same situation.
d.Try to install Linvst3, it works for BBC discover.
But my kontakt 7.10.6 player doesn't work. System display error message.

Fedora and Nobara
1.Native Access install and work without install yabridge or linvst.
2.Kontakt player and Spitfire player works with linvst only.

Linux mint and AVlinux
1.NA2 install and work to be test during weekend.
2.Spitfire player work with linvst only. kontakt player to be test
during weekend.

For those playing along at home (and affected by the Wine >= 9.22 issues when using yabridge) this is the issue to track: if you can try the branch linked in the related PR (binaries here) and report your success or lack thereof on that issue, you will have done your part toward helping resolve it.

Kontakt 7.10.6 (and 8 versions) can have a "Failed to initialize graphics backend for D3D11" error (which can make the vst3 display fail) which seems to have something to do with wine and DirectX Eleven and maybe the gamers know more about it but I think it's mostly an older hardware issue.

There are also Kontakt 7 and 8 installers available from NI that don't need Native Access 2.
