pipewire configuration for music production howto?

Post by finotti »

I am about to upgrade my computer and will (try to) switch to pipewire with a new installation of Debian (unstable/Sid).

Are there any recommended tutorials on pipewire and specific configurations for music production? (I mainly use Ardour and Carla, with many plugins.) Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Set the Pro Audio profile and go from there, you might not need to do much.

Why unstable for music production ?

That's a relevant question... This is not only my audio production computer, but my main computer for all work. I've been running audio on Debian Sid for many years without problem and am used to it. (Well, it is not quite Debian Sid, but siduction, which is basically the same thing.) I guess I just want to stick with what has been working for me for many years.
