About that "playback problem" I used to have it too, the playback suffered spat and stuttered to molasses until I tried to put the audio buffer size to 4096 and suddenly all went well ever and ever.

4.4.4, I don't have a problem with playback stuttering, it works ok at low latencies when playing in notes. Playback also works fine.
