ALSA Midi ports not displaying in Qjackctl 1.0.3.4?

Post by asbak »

Code: Select all

I can't see Alsa MIDI ports on Qjackctl 1.0.3.4 graph window, for some reason they are not displaying.
I can see them with aconnect on a shell.
The "missing" (from qjackctl) Alsa MIDI ports also display on qpwgraph 0.8.1.1
If you have qjackctl 1.0.3.4 or later installed, is anybody else encountering this with Version: 1.0.3.4git.fddb36-4.1 on Ubuntu 24.04 / Noble?

Edit:
Issue resolved
Forgot to tick the "enable ALSA sequencer support" box, doh!

(One takes settings for granted on old boxes and when installing a new one you forget about some of them)

You are a very experienced Linux musician so I don't think this is the problem, but if you are using Qjackctl's "column view" (read: not the graph) then are you looking in the Alsa Midi tab or in the Jack Midi tab? If you're using the graph: does zooming or scrolling left/right help?
