Where are we at with Wine-Staging and Yabridge? Autumn 2024

Hi,

I always clamp down the Wine versions on my machines to a working version and I'm currently locked down at 9.2 which works well. I'm in no hurry to change but thought I'd see what newer versions people can report working?

I seem to have 9.16, and at least I have used some windows plugins even today.

wine-staging 9.18 works fine for me
yabridge is v 5.1.0, if there's a newer release available it'll probably work as well

I'm on 9.17, and I have to say everything bar one very small manufacturers plugin is working perfectly, and that seems to be down to Vulkan

Tested the latest wine 9.18 loading all these in one Reaper 7.22 session
one 32 bit vsti
one 32 bit vst
one clap vsti
one 64 bit vst instrument
two 64 bit vst effects
one vst3 instrument
one vst3 effect
one lv2 instrument
one lv2 effect

Five plugin formats at once, and seems to play nicely in AVLinux MX
with kernel 6.6.9-1-liquorix-amd64 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT liquorix 6.6-11_mx23ahs
