Hello everybody,
I'm interested in purchasing a pair of studio monitors JBL LSR305 to use with my digital piano. The price is very good but seller, who lives some distance away, sent me this picture showing a blemish on the woofer of the speaker on the left. He says it doesn't affect the sound/functioning.
However, before I make the trip to go see them, I'd like to ear some expert opinions.
What do you guys think?
Is this woofer blemish significant?

It would certainly/technically affect the functioning and sound but whether to a degree that you would notice is anyone's guess. I wouldn't buy them myself and if you do then I hope you get a significant discount because of it.

That is significant damage. Before considering, find out the price of a replacement woofer. They would have to be less than about 20% of new price at the most.
TBH, I wouldn't buy that model at all. I auditioned a whole lot of monitors a while back and they were one of the worst sounding. I did end up spending somewhat more for EVE SC205 monitors but absolutely don't regret it as they sound excellent.

The price is 120 dollars for the pair. I haven't tested any monitor speaker yet but in a youtube video comparison (for whatever it'sworth) they sounded very detailed. I wouldn't use them for mixing, just to play a digital piano.

I once replaced the damaged tweeters on a set of studio monitors. I found the replacement on digikey.com after searching for a part with comparable dimensions and ohm rating.

I'd rather avoid buying something I have to fix later on. I'll probably keep looking.

I finally ordered a pair of Edifier R1700bt. I should get them this Friday. Let's hope they sound good.
UPDATE: got the Edifier today. They sound pretty fabulous. Amazing bass for the size.

Personally...I'd skip this one...
There has to be better and more future proof. JBL is good, but... THAT dent? Ouch....

I had the same feeling. Eventually, I bought a pair of Edifier R1700BT and totally love them. The basses are particularly impressive.
