Hi from Sweden!

Post by Steff_Swe »

I am an older guy (60+) playing music for myself and minor groups for fun.
Got interested of using DAW's and own FL Studio but hate using Windows..
Just getting to know Reaper for Linux and it's interface seems to fit my older style of computing.

So far very happy with Reaper that almost directly accepted My MIDI keyboard and works fine. (AKAI MPK261)

Just using reaper for a few days and have tons to learn and or ask about in here and other forums.

Happy to find a Linux music forum.

Hejsan, en till svensk minsann, det var trevligt att se... though to also keep this nice for others, I suppose I should, mostly, keep this in English .

This seems like a bit of a synchronicity. Yesterday, when I signed up here, I did notice, and read, your presentation, thinking I should get around to say hi some day. Then, earlier today, I visited the Linux section of the Reaper forums and semi-randomly clicked on a thread titled "Pipewire audio enhancement". Though I currently use neither Reaper nor Pipewire, I am a bit interested in both, so I'm reading up a bit before installing. Since I am not a member of the Reaper forums (yet, anyway), it felt a bit strange that the user name of the poster still, somehow, seemed a tad familiar...

Yes, you. Given how few posts you, thus far, have over there, it felt like quite a coincidence that I happened upon one of them. We do seem to have some overlap of interests, which might narrow things down, but still, they have well over a million posts in that place.

A-ny-way... Hi! Yes, PW 1.2.3 seems interesting. I'm thinking about getting it from Debian Backports. Unfortunately, the newest WirePlumber I can currently get that way is 0.4.17 and I would have preferred something from the 0.5.x series. While I could install that directly, that might come back to bite me later, complicating a clean upgrade to Debian 13 next year, so we'll see.
