My impression of the Presonus linux effort, is that they have never had extended talks with actual linux-based developers and or musicians who were not on their payroll. I expected much more from an established hardware/software provider. Even their forum implementation is pathetic.
When the future arrives, the linux part will likely pass them by.
Cheers

Yes you are right. Not spam. Thought people would know about this. Perhaps would have fit better in Markedplace?

At least they are trying! It's better than most companies in this space, in my opinion! If most companies decided to do just this, I would be much happier than the present state of affairs. So I'll have a good attitude about it.

Hopefully they will figure out a budget for linux, and make their intentions clear. Maybe they use, or plan to use, an embedded linux in high-end gear, and someone thinks it will be cost-effective to have distro level linux in their consumer/semi-pro software. They are a good company, and I hope they follow through with quality linux products. But on the software side, they are years behind Reaper, Mixbus, Bitwig, Qtractor, Ardour, Renoise etc Time will tell.
Cheers
