hello all,
I've been trying to resolve this issue, if it can be. I have a recording booth with a focusrite scarlett 2i2 audio interface connected to a usb 3.0 hub that has an extension cable (powered usb 3.0) running to my computer on the opposite end of the room. mic works great. I've recently put a razer kiyo webcam in there, and connected it to the same usb 3.0 hub.
the problem is I can only get one of the devices to work at a time, either the webcam or 2i2, not both. for example, in zoom, I can test each one, and they work, however, when connecting to a meeting (or starting one, doesn't matter), if I enable my video first, I have video and no audio. if I enable audio first, you guessed it, no video. I also tried this in OBS.
I have asked on other forums, and scoured the net to no avail. is it possible to have a webcam and the 2i2 connected to the same usb 3.0 hub? I've read that webcams take 80% of the bandwidth, I can't image audio needs more than the 20%.
Is there a way to get them to work on the same hub? or do I have to run a second 30ft usb cable to the recording booth to connect the webcam?
any help is GREATLY appreciated.
thanx

thank you for your reply, however, your reply doesn't offer any help, it just restates how long of a run I have, and it's not like I'm daisy chaining multiple 1 foot USB cables together, I have a 30 foot powered USB 3.0 cable.

Move computer to within 10 feet and shorter cable.
Use USB over Cat 5/6 baluns or USB over Fibre.
Get another 30 foot USB which I am surprised works at all.
