I think I also need a self imposed break from the internet

My recent collection, 'A Short Walk To the Beach', was released on behalf people like you and me, who find the contents of our internet travels, the daily news, and adjusting to imposed changes, takes a toll, and can be mood-altering. If you like the even first 20 seconds, I'll be happy. An older release, 'Carbon In The Sky', is cut from similar cloth. As are the title songs from 'Almost Home', and 'Along The River Trail'.

(I've set the number of free listens a bit on the high side  knowing that many people are facing high inflation this year.)

Trying to get this working without much success. Reaper cannot find the VST and Fantasia says no backend. Any tips on where to start?

As an older command-line tool, it might be better using it that way as a standalone, with output routed into a Reaper track.

Save a bunch of commands that launch the most used instruments, and append them to .bash_history text file, and edit the file to keep them near your up-arrow in the terminal.

This topic has a couple of useful hints when using the qsampler gui:

I use DecentSampler quite a bit, has an easy gui, and an ever-growing collection of sounds:

Do you need a pair of glasses? I was answering to the @777funk claim about Qjackctl not being "supported".

I definitely need new glasses! :D. I think I also need a self imposed break from the internet—I’m lashing out at people these days, and regretting it later after calming down. :(

You have to work on yourself: You mustn't calm down, then you won't have any regrets.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that you actually meant “must”, instead of “mustn’t”. 😉

Hmm. Should it read: You must learn to calm down without any regrets? Not sure

I figured it out. Ditch the Mac OSX and install Linux. Works now.

Haha... Realistically, I hate Macs as a rule. I don't like them with OSX and I don't like them with Ubuntu 22.04. No I do not like Macs... sam I am. lol.

I've always heard they make nice hardware etc, but my old Dell i5 laptop from just a little later in time is WAY faster and of course has right click which is so horrible not to have with a Mac. My 2012 Asus desktop with an i7 is faster still.

But the Mac does work (Just add Linux to help it out of proprietary Mac obsolete land)! I have some nice sounds with a Piano (Maestro Grand) and a few synth VSTis. One is running Yabridge to host Synth1 (the best... and it's free. Too bad it's not native Linux). Dexed is another excellent synth VST (has a native Linux build!!)
