I want to get the 8Pre. I know someone things need to be configured with their software, but as far as I know, the biggest thing is you need to use their software to switch the 1/4 inch jacks to Hi-Z. I think they are line level by default, which is what I want anyway.
Available for hire

Yikes! Focusrite apparently needs more musicians on its staff. I can't believe they didn't give MIDI the utmost consideration when deciding how they would implement configuration.folderol wrote: most... configuration over MIDI via SysEx and/or NRPNs.
put that to the developers as a feature request!
As an aside, my absolute favorite configuration via MIDI was done by Roland, when they came up with the idea of "memory-mapped" parameters "addressed" with System Exclusive messages. Writing a patch editor for a Roland product (which I did) was so much better than the competition.

Clarett+ can now be used with the GUI program for hardware routing and mixing (https://github.com/geoffreybennett/alsa-scarlett-gui).Note however that this GUI program needs a backend Linux driver (https://github.com/geoffreybennett/scar ... /v6.5.11c1) which is available in Kernel 6.7 but can also be build on kernels 5.15 or 6.5. I have Debian 12 with 6.1 and I was unable to build the driver for this kernel. Then I enabled bookworm-backports repository from where I was able to install Kernel 6.5 and than I was able to build the driver.
