Bluetooth MIDI Latency Tweaks

Post by JamesFrederik »

I've compiled and installed BlueZ 5.66 with MIDI enabled on Fedora 38 and am using it quite happily with a Korg MicroKey 2 Air, very stable, timing sounds fine.

The Korg with the iPhone seems no different to using a usb interface.

I also tried an iPhone <--> Linux and the latency was quite bad, too much jitter for drums.

I'm hoping there might be a couple of things that are tweakable to reduce the latency, particularly with the iPhone<-->Linux path, which is unusable.

Just wondering if anybody has a clue where to start poking.

I've got the /etc/bluetooth/main.conf open and am googling my way through the settings but there is nothing that leaps out.

Or perhaps there are more generic things with threads or priorities or whatever.

cheers.
