Everything installs to a single folder...
Everything is in one place...
That's how I'd do things on Windows. But Linux/Unix is a multi-user OS where every file and folder has "permission bits". If you copy an executable into a folder that doesn't have "execution" permission set for regular users, then the user can't run it. If you copy a manual to a folder that doesn't have "read" permission set for regular users, then the user can't read it. If you try to save the user's settings to a folder that doesn't have "write" permission set for regular users, then the settings won't be saved.
So Linux makes it just about impossible to put everything "in one place" because of all these permission bits, combined with the fact that certain files need certain permission bits set, and very few folders are set with all possible permission bits enabled (ie, it's a "security risk")
Thanks for a very thorough explanation! I wonder if a folder-concentrated install would be possible in Puppy Linux, where by default, everything runs in the root account? (and a user account is just optional) Putting all in /root/.lv2/NBO would be cool, assuming there are no permissions or 'bits' gotchas in a typical Puppy Linux release. Although by design, Puppy devs have often offered non-typical versions.
Cheers
Yes, but it's hard-wired to using the full range of Pitch Wheel messages to adjust the pitch up or down 2 half steps.
MPE?
No.
Midi Tuning Standard?
No. The engine is hard-wired to equal-tempered 12 tone scale.
microtuning (SCL/KBM or TUN) and/or MTS-ESP support
The playback engine is designed to be a very fast, memory-efficient, rudimentary way of playing a set of samples in equal-tempered western 12-tone scale, with pitch effects like slurs and vibrato possible. But it seems like you're after something that is more synthesizer-like, which can do microtuning, and go beyond 12-tone equal-tempered. The engine isn't designed for that, and I wouldn't use it for that.
Who do you think you're talking to? A canadian? I'm american. It's my god-given right to be rude and obnoxious. So shut up, and TEST THE SOFTWARE. Or, I'll blow something up in one of your fjords.
Hey, please watch what you say about us Canadians please! Thank you!
Congratulations on your award... and the reason for the award! That's pretty sweet.
The only grudge I have against canadians is that they created curling. the one sport more slow-paced and boring than golf. Isn''t there enough sadness and gloom in the world? Did we really need curling too?

Wikipedia says curling was first played in Scotland in the early 16th century.
But from what I've seen of US citizens' knowledge of geography, I wouldn't be surprised if you thought Scotland was part of Canada.

As a Canadian - with some Scottish heritage - please accept my apology on behalf of whichever of my people were responsible for this.

As a Scot with no Canadian heritage, I'm saying you don't need to apologize.
We invented Curling so we could play sport and enjoy a wee dram between ends. (Quite a few wee drams if we play the game slowly enough.)
A scottish accent is probably the hardest to understand for most english-speaking people, so I'm not sure I heard this correctly. But, did Alex just say he enjoys a "wet dream"????

If the wee dram is the right kind, then it's entirely possible.
Curling was learned by indigenous peoples watching polar bears playing with seal skulls on the ice sheets.
Perhaps the human variants are more civilized, but playing against a team of Polar Bears these days,
might lead to the human team being their special dinner guests.
