M-Audio Fast Track Ultra spdif input

Post by tavasti »

I got 'new' audio interface, over decade old M-Audio Fast Track Ultra. I would need to use spdif input in that, but I can't get any signal. This far I've tested interface with alsa_in, and tried giving it rate -r both 44100 and 48000, and tried setting sending device both rates, but no audio.

Anybody got any experience, does it work? Would it need some parameters to kernel module?

This far I've seen this: https://forum.kodi.tv/printthread.php?tid=253008 but could not extract any usefull info from it. There is link to http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.alsa.devel/39639 but that is down.

Manual says:

In order to receive a digital signal via the S/PDIF input, you will need to change the Control Panel’s clock setting (in the
Settings tab) to “external,” after which Fast Track Ultra will automatically detect an incoming digital signal and receive its
sample rate from that incoming S/PDIF source

And sure, that is about windows/mac configuration program.
