RaySession, Patchance and Patchichi releases (v0.13.1, v1.0.0, v0.2.0)

Post by houston4444 »

Hi. I release today the 3 softwares using the HoustonPatchbay submodule (for their JACK patchbay), follow the links to read the release notes.
The website http://raysession.tuxfamily.org containing documentation has also been updated.
If you use and like one of theses softwares, donations are really welcome at : https://liberapay.com/Houston4444/.

RaySession:
v0.13.1: https://github.com/Houston4444/RaySessi ... ag/v0.13.1

RaySession is an audio session manager, it allows you to run and save several programs together.

Patchance:
v1.0.0: https://github.com/Houston4444/Patchanc ... tag/v1.0.0

Patchance is a patchbay for JACK (or PipeWire), it is a direct alternative to Catia or Patchage. It is of no interest to RaySession users.

Patchichi:
v0.2.0: https://github.com/Houston4444/Patchich ... tag/v0.2.0

Patchichi is an abstract patchbay creator, it is not linked to JACK. It is a great help to develop HoustonPatchbay or to create themes. It can also be used to create abstract patchbays.

Hi,

We are just working on Patchance and Raysession for AV Linux and MX Linux Users, they should be in MX Test or main in a day or two, we had to work from the Ubuntu packaging and we are still sorting out python3-qt5 dependencies for Debian. Credit to MX Packager Stevo..

Nice, There are also Librazik packages which could be your base (Librazik4 is based on Debian Bullseye).
Else, in the releases, the first asset tarball is the good one, for example for Patchance: Patchance-1.0.0-source.tar.gz.
Note that Patchance tarball accidentally contains the previous tarball package_utils/dist/Patchance-0.2.0-source.tar.gz, it is of course useless and you can remove it, but is has no more effect than increase the archive size.

Thanks!

We usually go to Repology first to find 'Debianized' sources, I should have thought of LibraZik..

Not sure if it matters but the Ubuntu Packaging didn't list 'python3-pyqt5.qtsvg' as a dependency so when testing our packages neither Patchance or Raysession would run until python3-pyqt5.qtsvg was installed manually, we added it as a dependency to get everything working as it should.. The next AVL ISO update should have both included so we can better accommodate both monolithic DAW Users and those with modular needs.

Excellent work on demystifying session management!
