moody ambient guitar take on Carol of the Bells

Post by modusjonens »

A delay-drenched moody jam on some motifs from "Carol of the Bells".

Definitely has some flubs, but I think the good parts outweigh the mistakes.

In over five minutes of playing, I totally failed to play the "Merry Merry Merry Merry Christmas" ascending line even once. Whoops! Guess that means I'll just have to do another version of this one! :)

Thanks for listening.

It's a great performance, so I'd definitely agree that the good parts outweigh the mistakes. Do you listen to Jean Baudin at all? He does similar stuff to this, with one extended range bass track and usually a lot of delay.

I make music as Tenaba! Bandcamp

I hadn't heard of him. I just listened to "583 Years from Now" and really dug it. I will definitely be listening to more. Thanks!

Very groovy and really cool! I think the only small downside is that the theme melodies are often drowned as soon as you start them, but I guess that's simply because of the ton of delay that engulgs them: they're well recognizable anyway, so no big deal

Very cool. That stereo delay sounded especially good with headphones.

Glad that they're recognizable! It's a pretty aggressive amount of delay, so I'm glad it worked at all.

Thanks for listening!

I agree that it's very good, especially once you understand what's going on the guitar. I think the rhythmic part is very impressive!

Very nice, well done, I find it very difficult to control delays.
