How to configure WINE to run the Sonokinetic manager?

Hello,

I am using some Kontakt Player instruments by Sonokinetic under Linux.

While the instruments itself just need a working installation of the Kontakt Player, you need the Sonokinetic manager to download them.

This download manager starts when using the most recent version of WINE staging but just shows an empty application window without any widgets inside in my case. It was working well in the past on my setup but doesn't work anymore for an unknown reason. After messing around my WINE configuration for a few hours without success I gave up.

Has anybody an idea which WINE settings and/or windows frameworks are required to run the software in an usable way?

A couple of questions:

1) Can you dump the wine version? E.g., on my AVLinux box:

This download manager starts when using the most recent version of WINE staging but just shows an empty application window without any widgets inside in my case. It was working well in the past on my setup but doesn't work anymore for an unknown reason. After messing around my WINE configuration for a few hours without success I gave up.

Have you different hardware? There was discussion about IK Modo Drums/Bass/Something that needed proper GPU to work, and at least for me, it did not work.

Just a shot in the dark but according to Yabridge developer the 7.22 is one of the recent problematic (or b0rkenish) version of Wine:

The other alternative on the yabridge Github page is to upgrade yabridge >= 5.0.3.

The Sonokinetic Manager is a standalone application which manages downloads and license keys; not a VST plugin. Therefore, Yabridge or anything similar is not being involved when running.

You need explicitly to disable your GPU using this WINE parameter:

Then you are able to login to download your Kontakt Libraries.
