Mundi Dolore (2022-11)

I recently acquired a new ES-339 guitar; this is the first recording I made with that guitar. It's not really a song, it's more like a quick recording while I was improvising and working out some melodic ideas. I may develop it further (i.e., into a fully realized song), but here it is in its current state.

DAW is Bitwig. Instruments include:

  • MIDI drums, bass, and keyboard synth pad

  • Another "synthy" pad sound, but not MIDI, just played with a guitar (a Telecaster HH) + effects pedals

  • The lead guitar (ES-339)

Love the guitar, but if you ever work this song out further, you should give the drums more attention, imo. The drumming is way too bland now..

I'm looking forward to a fleshed out version! You have a good tone there and you sound "perfectly in tune" with that tone. There's a really good flow to it.

Yeah, that guitar playing is really great and the sound makes it stand out very clearly. Makes me remember listening to ZZ Top in the end of the 80s.... :)

I am looking forward to hear a further development of this song!

MusE DAW running on Debian 11 Testing/XFCE4.

Spot on with the guitar. Drumming's a bit 'pedestrian' but hey, it fits.

The Yoshimi guy {apparently now an 'elderly'}

Thank you for the feedback, everyone.

I'll definitely give the drums some attention as I develop this some more. As noted, at the moment they're used as little more than a metronome.
