DStudio - make music with openFrameworks v1.0 released!
DStudio - make music with openFrameworks
DStudio combines the ofSoundStream class of openFrameworks with the DSP library DaisySP from Electro-smith.
DStudio provides another abstraction layer where you don't deal with soundstreams and filters but with synthesizers, mixers, plugins and sequencers.
Like making a studio with code!
The parts of DStudio are:
ofxDaisySP – an addon with DaisySP, a DSP library.
ofxDStudio – an addon which builds upon DaisySP to give you synthesizers, a sample player, drum sounds, FX plugins, a mixer with FX, sequencers as well as utilities. All can be controlled by MIDI.
demos – nine examples that shows you how to use DStudio.
In ofxDStudio you will find:
3 synthesizer classes
1 sample player class
6 drum classes
1 mixer class
1 splitter class
2 sequencer classes
6 FX classes
a total of 24 classes
10 000+ lines of code
an extensive written manual

This looks really interesting.
I stumbled upon openFrameworks a few weeks ago, from an user point-of-view trying to compile some video stuff (https://andreijaycreativecoding.com/Vid ... sphere-RPI). However I wasn't able to get it working.

Re: DStudio - make music with openFrameworks v1.0 released!
I had no problems with openFrameworks itself, I had problem compiling the video stuff I linked. Most of these OF programs seems to emulate 70-80s video video feedback stuff, they are designed to run on RPI but it should be possible to run it on a desktop x64 system, I believe...oscillator wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 2:45 pm @LAM, thanks! Anyway I don't want to steer the discussion away from DStudio.
Great stuff you made, I'm not a programmer but I'll take a look at your project.

For the next version I will look into DStudio - graphics interaction, using MIDI (and possibly audio) to control visual FX.
At the moment there is an annoying bug concerning gstreamer and openFrameworks that wont let me move forward...

Minds me of the gig where the bass player's car broke down on the way to the venue: "Hi! We're the Bassless Accusations!"I'm a C programmer, so I have no class.
