Epic is the right adjective to cover this song. The sampled requiem helps, but overall is not even half the story. I like the harmoniesand Kajsa's vocals are lovely!
Contrary to all evidence, I'm not a big 80s fan. But this piece is great. There are many modern elements in it. I'd love to hear a remix with a more modern drumkit, especially with this D&B like bass sound this could transform the music again.
Which synth did you use for the filter-modulated sound, starting around 45 seconds?

Thanks you @jeanette_c, I'll be sure to tell Kajsa!jeanette_c wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 10:44 am Epic is the right adjective to cover this song. The sampled requiem helps, but overall is not even half the story. I like the harmoniesand Kajsa's vocals are lovely!
That is an interesting idea. If you or anyone on this list wants to take a shot, I am happy to provide the raw files.jeanette_c wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 10:44 am Contrary to all evidence, I'm not a big 80s fan. Do you mean the kind of gated 16ths or the more squelchy? Either way, all sounds are made with Surge. It is the only softsynth I use (except for drum sounds).jeanette_c wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 10:44 am Which synth did you use for the filter-modulated sound, starting around 45 seconds?
Thank you for listening and your kind comments, I'm glad you liked it!

A very interesting track. Enjoy the contrast between the song and choral backgrounds.

Re: Dreams of Seagulls - Pandora [epic synthpop]
I have always wanted to try sampled choirs. I was afraid it was going to be a bit cheezy, like some stuff made in the 90s by M Cretu (not that his stuff was cheezy, just that it is already done well by him, if a bit overdone maybe
It is fun to incorporate something with harmony, not just melody, and see if you can borrow from it.
Thanks a lot for listening and commenting!

Thanks a lot! It was fun to make! Kajsa did a great job on the vocals, very relaxed.OccinticLady wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 11:08 am Wow! Just discovered this! I love it, no stress, just smooth vibes...
