The squealing that comes out of my laptop speakers, is unspeakable!
I know Jack causes lots of folks misery, and I am one.
I have a Kubuntu system with KXStudio installed.
Could someone help me clean this up and stop the screeching?
I have my mic into man KLR input of usb interface, and plan to add my synth keyboard and my digital organ/piano to 2 more XLR inputs, run the signals into my laptop, then out from the interface into my mixer to the speakers.

Re: Who here REALLY knows qjackctl to stop the screeching?
Since you seem to be routing audio directly from your microphone to your speakers, perhaps this is "just" feedback?
If that's the case then JACK might actually be working fine, but you might need to reduce the gain on your microphone or the volume on your speakers, or make sure the mic is directed away from the speakers?
If you remove the 'direct' connection from microphone to speakers, does the problem go away? Can you record/play to/from other applications?
Re: Who here REALLY knows qjackctl to stop the screeching?
At present, the sound is coming through the laptop speakers, as I do not have the interface connected to my mixer, then forward to the powered speakers.

Re: Who here REALLY knows qjackctl to stop the screeching?
OK, so you want to use the USB interface, but you seem to be using the laptop internal soundcard right now?
Do you have the correct 'Interface' selected on the 'Setup' screen?
Re: Who here REALLY knows qjackctl to stop the screeching?
I just went and changed the Setup; No more screeching, but no reaper signal for recording either?

Re: Who here REALLY knows qjackctl to stop the screeching?
These are the present connections in Jack. Do I need to add these in Patchbay? well well...it seems that I now have signal from my digital keyboard! Exciting!
