[ANN] Qtractor 0.9.15 - An Early-Summer'20 Release

Hi y'all!

Let's go straight to the real good news ...

• Qtractor 0.9.15 (early-summer'20) is released!

Change-log:
- Fixed MIDI tracks export that were missing the end-of-export tail parameter and bailing out always with default SMF format anyway.
- Fixed VST3 component/controller inter-connection.
- LV2 Atom/Port-event host notification support has been retouched, but still unofficial though.
- Fixed VST3 audio-processor initialization/activation when a plugin has no inputs or outputs present.
- Let main window pseudo-asynchronous stabilization re. menus, tools and status bars, just faster and immediate.
- Fixed MIDI track monitor re-instantiation and reset.



Description:
Qtractor is an audio/MIDI multi-track sequencer application written in C++ with the Qt framework. Target platform is Linux, where the Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK) for audio and the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) for MIDI are the main infrastructures to evolve as a fairly-featured Linux desktop audio workstation GUI, specially dedicated to the personal home-studio.

I am experiencing a big performance boost, especially with big projects with many and/or CPU consuming plugins. At a given buffer size realtime CPU usage went down from 50% to 30%.

But I updated libserd/sord/lilv/suid/sratom as well. Can't say if that might be a reason, too.

hi rui, I noticed that when you select a plug in vst qtractor it crashes and closes in this latest version, while in the one present in the official debian repo it doesn't happen. i used qtractor on debian buster.

which exact VST is that? also need to tell which exact qtractor version (and build) you're referring to... whether is the AppIMage you're running or a .deb you installed from official repos or even if you're doing it from some PPA (possibly mine;)...

Hi.

I had Qtractor 0.9.14 also crashing - but exactly one time only when scanning VST plugins. Didn't happen again after restarts so far. Meanwhile I compiled 0.9.15 with VST3 enabled by myself and it seems to be stable. At least it doesn't crash when scanning for plugins. I have uploaded a .deb file to my google drive.

For crash i start ultimate qtractor appimage on debian buster.....if i start qtractor official repo debian not crash selected vst plug in
