Slowly but steady
Might add a railing, make the floor a bit see through by adding a metal mesh with maybe some pipes below it.

Still falling deeper and deeper into that pit.
Still thinking I need some lights flickering to the beat. Worried because I probably want to make some bends (not sharp corners) in the corridor.

Re: how to make a video like this
Wasn't there some instructional video 'make anything react to beat'?
And for bends, to my taste such shape need sharp corners, not bends! Anyway, looks nice start.

Re: how to make a video like this
Thank you, and I should have said, I don't want 90 degrees corners. ( that was what I meant lol )
In a cad program I would do copy rotate, but not sure yet on how to do this in blender.
Maybe there is an array modifier, I wil figure that part out. Worse case scenario, I will have to model a corner piece., which I can then copy and rotate.
I think there are tutorials explaining how to make things react to music.
Also want to add more details, but slowly starting to have a bit of fun with Blender, it's getting less frustrating.

A quick tip to bevel edges:
In edit mode select "edge mode"
select an edge, keeping your cusor close to that edge, press ctrl+b click then drag to your desired size. Use the scroll of your mouse (if your mouse has one) to add edges for a more rounded edge. Click to commit. Select another edge then press shift+r to repeat the past action.

Ducky's are pretty good for that. You (and i) linked to some of them earlier up in this thread.
Keep having fun...

Re: how to make a video like this
Yes Ducky has awesome vids for us.
I also found a solution for my problem, the spin tool.
Select the edge of the corridor, set steps to 1, and you can make a straight piece under an angle.
22.5 or 30 degrees, so 4 or 3 steps to make a 90 degree corner, in the corridor.
I am gonna watch those movies now. I have already noticed that I am not the only one with a Cad background, that struggles to understand the blender way.

Found it, make anything react to music.
This will not consume, as much time as my brilliant sci-fi corridor idea.

Trying to figure out how snap works in Blender.
The blender devs really need to take a look at how snap works in about all 3 D cad programs.
For days now struggling and can't get it to work.

You would think its easy to move one part and make is snap onto the other part, because it is easy in cad programs.
There is a move option in blender, but for this case you want to hit G to move one part.
I did learn the devs are working on it though, and I am one of many who struggle with snap in blender.
I am almost tempted to install autocad or something better for 3D , then import the blender file, do the snap and export it back into blender.
And it looks so easy in this gif.
https://blender.stackexchange.com/quest ... bject-mode
But at least because of this, I know it possible in blender, I seriously started to doubt it.
Never give up never surrender.
I would still suggest people to use blender though, there is allot more simple stuff you can do to make some vid to your music.
And I could just eyeball those two pieces together, but the mechanical engineer in me does not like that.

Re: how to make a video like this
Line your segments up, turn snap on and select 'increment' then slide/move your segment into place. It should snap to the other segment.

Re: how to make a video like this
Thank you but this wont work if you have like me pieces under a 30 degree angle.
The increment as I understand it is always a number like 123 not decimal. ?
I think I just did it though, although the height was not 100% good. I then eyeballed that to get the height right.
Turn off snap. In object mode join the 2 pieces.
Then go into edit mode and select one piece of the second part then hit L to select all of the second part.
Then hit G and turn on snap. select an vertex of the part you want to move, then select a vertex to were you want to move.
Don't ask me why you have to turn on snap during transform, but it seems to matter.
The rest to make it even longer should be more easy, because now I have two straight edges.
Then your increment method should work I might also apply a mirror modifier to do so, or an array.
First back to adding details. and pipes.

Re: how to make a video like this
Looking good.
The only suggestion i'd make at this point would be to, apply a small bevel to all sharp edges and corners.
Otherwise, rock on and i hope that you are having some fun in the process..

Re: how to make a video like this
Thank you.
I am starting to have fun with blender, added ceiling lights and a yellow light.
Allot of what I do needs separate by selection, other wise anything I change will change the entire corridor.
Now how to turn it into a movie, with the red lights reacting to the music.
I have seen how to do this in tutorials.
Bit worried about me wanting to add two corners, that was quite a fight last time I tried.
The snap function of blender needs work, so it will be as easy as in 3D cad programs, to move parts against each other.
I will see how it looks with more bevels, but I think I like the sharp corners I have now.

I am optimistic to have a vid in a few days.
Edit: I looked at adding more bevels, but that did not make me happy.

Re: how to make a video like this
I hate Blender , can't figure out yet how to export a movie from Blender,
So used for now a screen recorder to show off the result.
Needs work, but its a start.
Next will be a fly through.
