"Au bord du vif" | Free Improvisation on classical guitar

Post by Alan Perros »

Hi there !

I'm currently working on new compositions, coming soon, hopefully... In the meantime, I just dust off an old recording. A free improvisation recorded on the 9th of August 2015. I hope you'll like it !

Recorded with a very cheap 200€ guitar and a zoom Q8.
Audio: normalisation, high/low pass filters on Ardour
Video: KDEnlive and GIMP

I like the impro a lot, I think you are able to pick which chords to insert between solo lines with great taste. :D

But be careful about the breathing, it's too loud in the recording.

What model of guitar is that?

It's a Ibanez G10-NT, wich isn't produced anymore. Ibanez launched a series of classical guitars (6, 7 and 8-strings) on the market around 2014, but they stopped a couple of years later. Good quality/price ratio but still, it's not a good guitar. ',)

I really enjoyed listening and watching. Your use of harmonics was especially interesting to me.

I also enjoyed your Bach prelude. Very nice.

Hi,

Wonderfully played, you have a great touch! nice melodies intertwined with occasional dissonant chords
