Synth over the internet

What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

Synth over the internet

Post by d.healey »

Hi,

Do you know of any software that will allow me to send MIDI data over the internet to a machine running a synth/sampler and receive audio back? I'd also like to be able to see/control the GUI of the synth on the remote machine.

I know VNC and xpra can handle audio but I've not seen a system that can also handle MIDI.

Thanks.

Client part can be built for Linux. Server part is Win/Mac only yet due plugin's window sharing (some kind of VNC or RDP) implementation.

No, it works if you have direct network access to another machine, any VPN-like software should work
