Deezer released Spleeter, a trained model for splitting and isolating single instruments from master tracks.
This is similar to Open-Unmix:

The respective authors were nice enough to release it as libre software (MIT license).
Now, the real question is, who will pick them up to develop FLOSS programs based on them? I think they could be made into Audacity plugins (not sure LV2 is appropriate though, as they are not meant for real-time usage, but VAMP isn't appropriate either).

The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common. [Acts 4:32]

I was curious and I already tested it and took a closer look at it a few months ago. Nice proof of principle. But miles away from clear separation of tracks. And thus not usable as a tool for music production (yet).Basslint wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 1:35 pm https://github.com/deezer/spleeter
