Back In The Seat - Blues Rock instrumental.
One of my periodic attempts to 'prime the pump' and get things going. A blues rock jam recorded on Ardour with a drum loop a few years ago on a Debian system.
I reloaded the project into Mixbus on Ubuntu Studio. The drums were redone with drumgizmo, the first time I have completely programmed them with a mouse in Mixbus or Ardour. The track was mastered with bandlab.

Nice playing! I think the drums are mixed a bit too quiet.

Hi!
Nice heavy blues! Some tasty licks in there and great tone and phrasing. Reminded me a tiny bit of Leslie West from Mountain. I would agree the drums could be be louder, in fact a nice heavy Bonham style backbeat would suit very nicely..

Hope that pump is primed; good stuff. What's the signal chain on the guitar?
I'd dial back the compression a bit and get a good clanky snare in there with some room reverb.

Re: Back In The Seat - Blues Rock instrumental.
Thanks for the kind words folks. The drums are a work in progress as I am switching to programming Drumgizmo directly in the DAW with a mouse instead of using Hydrogen.
Guitar info. The two main guitars are a Burny Supergrade with Fernandes sustainer pickups and an 80s squire Tele. I used my trusty line 6 Pod 2.0. In the mix I did not do much except high pass filter and compression.
Thanks too for the suggestions. I have played for over forty years but still have a lot to learn about modern digital mixing techniques (a far cry from old tape 4 track!)

Re: Back In The Seat - Blues Rock instrumental.
Weird question, but what is the firmware version on your POD?
Reason I ask is that I have one with 2.1 FW, but it sounds kind of bad. I am debating about buying a 2.3 chip off ebay. Not sure if it's going to be worth it, though.

Re: Back In The Seat - Blues Rock instrumental.
Sorry I don't know, how would I find out? I have never modded or done any kind of firmware upgrade it and have had it several years. I have always been happy with the sound, but l like to 'dial in' sounds by ear using the controls rather than program from a PC.lykwydchykyn wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 3:43 pm Weird question, but what is the firmware version on your POD?

I particularly like the ability to emulate say, a Marshall top, through a single 12" speaker,

Re: Back In The Seat - Blues Rock instrumental.
I read that to find out you hold down the manual button and power on. When I do this mine displays 2.54. Hope that helps.lykwydchykyn wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 3:43 pm Weird question, but what is the firmware version on your POD?

Ah, thanks; you have a much newer model than mine. I think mine will only go to 2.3, and I have to buy a chip for that.
