QSampler standalone, no "JACK" option

Post by tseaver »

QSampler works fine for me when using LinuxSampler as a plugin in Ardour / Mixbus.

However, when run without LS already present, it shows me only "ALSA" in the
"Audio Output" type (no "JACK"). Everything else I do on the system uses Jack
just fine.

Anybody seen this, or can suggest a debugging approach?

looks like that it's linuxsampler that was built without JACK support.

qsampler as client only shows the drivers that linuxsampler server provides. no more, no less.

cheers

Maybe so. I've pretty much sworn off LinuxSampler at this point, given that
sfizz covers 90%+ of what I want.

Exactly my problem. I downloaded Linuxampler from the official repositories tough: https://download.linuxsampler.org/packages/debian/

There are other places to look for it? Or, should I recompile it from sources?

PS: I was just willing to play out "gig" samples; maybe there are other tools for that?

Thank you!

For informartion: I've recompiled linuxsampler and don't know if it was something installed during the process or linuxsampler itself but now I've Jack driver and everything is working just fine! Nice hint, thank you!
