I would like my guitarix-amp to sound like a randall cyclone:

I tried the presets on this website: https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts
I think there is no one getting even close to.
Do you know any other sources for presets or is someone able to find suitable settings to get this sound?

First of all, to archive such brutal sounds, you need a IR file, maybe one of this may help

I guess the presets which comes closest to your desired sound are the ones from Babis Kouvalis, like Rectobabz or Metal Pack.
Those together may be able to archive that sound.

Then you need to learn amplification. There's no button with “Make It All Just As I Want” written on it. Also, there's a huge market for click-and-point amplifier emulations.hdr wrote:I would like my guitarix-amp to sound like a randall cyclone
Being creative does not imply being lazy, stupid, or illiterate.

Oh, there is. It's written "Online" on it. It give you access to all shared guitarix presets on https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts including there descriptions.AlexTheBassist wrote:Then you need to learn amplification. However, when the sound you are after is not there, you may create and share it. That's how the button “Make It All Just As I Want” get filled with life.
Without contributions, it wont work.

That's great, I didn't know this 'effect'.tramp wrote:First of all, to archive such brutal sounds, you need a IR file, maybe one of this may help
Most of the presets already have a 'Cabinet' in the rack.
Is the Convolver in combination with IR-files supposed to be used additional to the Cabinet or to replace it?
What's the difference between Convolver and Cabinet? Isn't the Cabinet a kind of Convolver with a preset of IR files?

Most people use it instead. But you could use both as well, it depend on your taste.hdr wrote:Is the Convolver in combination with IR-files supposed to be used additional to the Cabinet or to replace it?
There are a couple of nice free IR-files out there, those could be Cabinet IR-files, Room-IR-files, Amp-IR-files, at least from anything which have a frequency responce. Most Amp-IR-files include the Cabinet already, hence most people disable the extra cabinet convolver when used them.
Yes, the Cabinet is a collection of sliced Cabinet IR files hard-coded in the source code.hdr wrote:What's the difference between Convolver and Cabinet? Isn't the Cabinet a kind of Convolver with a preset of IR files?

Re: Randall Cyclone amp sound in guitarix
How are they intended to be used when loaded into Reverb->Convolver? Instead of a cabinet, placed after Guitarix head without a tonestack?tramp wrote:First of all, to archive such brutal sounds, you need a IR file, maybe one of this may help
