so check the demo videos at the IK link/youtube etc. I have a 'lite' version and it works well
using wine and reaper. Install/authorization not a problem
Is this 'works well / not a problem' situation result of careful adjustments for wine versions and others, or does it work right away, on different linux distros and wine versions?

That lite-version would be on suitable price range for me.

I don't recall doing anything special, I have a puppy linux with wine 3.15,
works OK, and wine-staging 4.20/4.21 also working
in Mint and Bodhi. Been using Amplitube for years,
then as bargains appeared, sampleTank 2.5, 3, 4SE and 4Max,
and Miroslav lite came bundled with a midi controller, in the deal below:

https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/index ... yourio2019

This sale ends the 31st, $300 gets

Free SampleTank 4 Max (260 gig sampleset)
49 key midi contoller (pads, knobs etc)
the controller has it's own bundle, with Miroslav Lite,
a T-Racks version with 8 mastering modules,
the full SampleTank III (but those sounds are
integrated in ST4 Max) and iOS versions of Miroslav and SampleTank,
and a Syntronik instrument.

Get the free Syntronik, if it works and authorizes, it's likely
the rest of the product line will too.

https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/syntronik/

scroll to the bottom for the gree version.

I can download it, and it installs and works. And auth works also, but asks serial number, and downloading does not make such in my products. I asked about it from their support.

But seems to somewhat working.

Login at IK, in the menus Support-->User Area-->My Products
there should be a Syntronik Free entry with a serial number,
if needed, give that to the Authorization Manager,
which you can launch whenever you want to.
New sounds can be created from each of the included instruments,
I always wanted a Yamaha SY99, but settled for the
software version.
Cheers

That is what I meaned with 'does not make such in my products'. There isn't.

And Sampletank 3 (coming from Sample Tank Custom Shop) has key, will run as standalone, but VST will crash on loading. For that I have serial, and it is possible to auth, but not use.

I did an install of SampleTank3 on my new
Ubuntu Studio 19..10/wine-staging 4.20 setup where Kontakt 6 is running.
The Sampletank gui was not properly loading.

I saw in wine terminal output, that libpng12.0 was missing (16.x is in
most distros now), so I added the old one in manually.
I then remembered some over-rides that helped with gui's,
as Ubuntu Studio now uses the official nVidia drivers.
I got the needed .dlls, renamed the originals adding DEFAULT to
the .dll extension, to easily be seen in a file manager later, if needed.
I added over-rides in the winecfg libraries tab, and set win 10 as the
OS in use. After a reboot, SampleTank 3 was OK as a plugin in Reaper,
so I installed Syntronik Free, and it was available in Reaper from the SampleTank
gui, in the sounds column on the left, as it's sounds are integrated in SampleTank.
Not industry standard procedure for plugins,
but it works. I believe the four layers of Syntronik count against the
16 layers available in SampleTank, but there's lots to utilize.

An Authorization Manager request popped up behind Reaper once,
made me think the system froze, when it was just waiting for my command.
Here are the .dll's that needed over-rides:

mfc90.dll
d2d1.dll
d3d9.dll
ucrtbase.dll

and those recommended for Kontakt:

mfc42.dll
mfc140.dll
32 bit mfc42.dll
32 bit mfc42u.dll

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Garritan Personal would be on suitable price range for me. I'll consider it.
Aria player seems to work ok, so Garritan Personal might be good option in case I end up getting something.
