Re: casette recording
I quite like this. I listened to it several times over the weekend. The VU meters as the only moving thing in the video are kind of hypnotic. I especially like the subtle synth that comes in briefly at about 1:30. Overall a very relaxing mood piece.
Was this recorded on a cassette machine? An old 4-track or something? If so then you did a good job of eliminating the tape hiss. What Linux software did you use?
EDIT: I also like the subtle delay effect. Adds a nice bit of texture and depth.

Re: casette recording
It was recorded on a Marantz PMD-430 portable cassette recorder - the one with VU meters which is shown in the video and at the time it was being recorded. I've used Type II cassette tape with Dolby B noise reduction. I've played back the cassette and recorded it to Bitwig on Linux (could have done that in real time as Marantz is a 3 head recorder). Not much processing there in Bitwig only about couple db peak limiting on a master track.
Thanks everybody for your comments! I am very bad at expressing myself but I'm very grateful that two of you liked this song. Thanks!

It's one of the most relaxing things I've heard perhaps in years. Thank you for this moment of peace!

Re: casette recording
I really can't think of anything to improve here, it's lovely as-is. Thanks for sharing it.
The sound is really enjoyable as well, either from the tape quality or the lack of editing (or both). It's refreshing to hear a real performance from start to finish. Very soulful and sincere.
