Re: Waves Of Memories
There is no reason to say such things, nobody expects you to be a master. Besides, I rather enjoyed it. The arrangement of thick harmony in the strings sections juxtaposed against the distant melancholy piano makes a really nice sound. I'm excited to have somebody else here that is doing orchestral music.iurie wrote: I know is horrible.
In case you haven't seen this, Mattias Westlund has a very approachable set of articles about virtual orchestration on his site. He also has a forum called Scoring Central with a small friendly group who are very willing to help people learn more about virtual orchestration. One of the most active members of that forum is the author of Versilian Community Sample Library.

I'll definitely join the forum.Michael Willis wrote:

Do you have works? I am curious to listen them. I have read somewhere about your motivation to develop the reverb Dragonfly Reverb, i.e. to use it for concert music. Do you have any tracks to see how you are applying it for this?Michael Willis wrote:I'm excited to have somebody else here that is doing orchestral music.

Also here are some older ones:
https://instaud.io/1Tzw
https://instaud.io/Pt7
Some time I want to revisit the last one. I have this idea of doing a five-piece suite inspired by different things I enjoy about going outdoors. The "towering granite" on my SoundCloud is a rough draft of one of them, and the last instaud.io link is another one I want to called "Looking toward starlight".
Now that I'm wrapping up the dragonfly project, hopefully I can get back to writing music!

You are very good on orchestration, and I like your style, what you are writing, is closer to me. I wanted to say that continue to do this... go back, go back to writing.Michael Willis wrote: https://soundcloud.com/user-201997735

Re: Waves Of Memories
I agree with Michael. This piece is quite nice - both the composition and the sound engineering. A casual listener might be fooled into thinking some of those were acoustic instruments here and there. I was impressed.
I listen to a lot of classical music, but I don't aspire to compose it. That's far beyond me.

Very enjoyable. Particularly like the later part with the flutes and violin,
