Hi,
how can I connect denemo via jack to, for example linuxsampler, in this topic from Linuxsampler.org
http://bb.linuxsampler.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&p=2790
someone in writing about this possibility, but didn't explain the how to and how can I get the jack midi input working?
Greetings
Thomas

I suggest you to ask it in on IRC #denemo @ freenode . It's an quite new feature...
And then tell us how it works

Re: jack midi port in denemo 0.8.12
I have done nothing but starting denemo and I see jack midi input and output ports in qjackctl. In Linuxsampler you need that the MIDI input is Jack, not ALSA and then make the connections in the MIDI tab. If you can't choose the jack midi input in linuxsampler (or if you have any other alsa-midi-only soft synth) you need a2jmidid.

I improved the docs at http://denemo.org/index.php/JACK a bit.Pablo wrote:I have done nothing but starting denemo and I see jack midi input and output ports in qjackctl.
As an alternative to a2jmidid, you can also set 'MIDI Driver' to 'seq' in your JACK config, and you ALSA MIDI devices will show up in the JACK MIDI tab in JACK.In Linuxsampler you need that the MIDI input is Jack, not ALSA and then make the connections in the MIDI tab. Not sure how that compares to a2jmidid.

Excellent work!I improved the docs at http://denemo.org/index.php/JACK a bit.
Yes! Thank you! However, it seems that port names are not shown so you have to guess which port belongs to which program. Also, my BCF2000 didn't work in ardour (Mackie mode) when I selected MIDI seq. I haven't tried this recently and it might have changed, but since then, I always use a2jmidid.As an alternative to a2jmidid, you can also set 'MIDI Driver' to 'seq' in your JACK config, and you ALSA MIDI devices will show up in the JACK MIDI tab in JACK.

Re: jack midi port in denemo 0.8.12
yes, it worked for me, too. But I had to compile denemo with --enable-jack.
Now I have a problem with the playback, it always starts at the beginning of the score, never in the selected measure, but the scrolling starts at the selected measure. Does anyone why?
Greetings and Thanks
Thomas

Re: jack midi port in denemo 0.8.12
Will it be solved in the next release?
Because it is an annoying bug, I can't see what I hear and I have always listening to the complete score, to hear some measures in the middle or end.
Isn't there another solution?

Yes, it will.
Download the git-generated tarball from http://denemo.org/index.php/Get_Denemo and use this instead of the release.
We keep our git repository as stable as the releases.
