Edit: 105 sfz files, 900 meg synth-drum .wav files $13

(Edited)

https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/ ... ynth-Drums

I noticed the sfz content while reading the ad, thought it would be of interest to someone.
Just a small part of the much larger synth-drums sample content,
but at the no-brainer price, not too shabby. Could be good for making
kits for Hydrogen, Drumgizmo, or used in Rui's sampler and drum machine.

EDIT I did buy this, and should be easy to use for SFZ mavens, no installers,
just 900 meg of wav files, 105 sfz files, and several folders of
common windoze formats like nki etc

'cabextract' is in many distros, a utility that might be able to open up the installer.

Edit PB have a page to help sundry installations, none of it for linux,
but possibly could help wine users, although just folders and files are in the archive,
no installers to fiddle with

105 for $13? A hundred and five?
That much? You only need a few good ones for free. :D Enough good free ones to find.
A hand full extended drumkits and some nice different percussion sets will do. And not to forget a good keyboard with sensitive keys will complement the sounds (and multiply it).
My 27 (times 60+ keys times different key strokes) are much more then enough. To much already to choose, mostly falling back on a few off them using the others only occasionally for one soundkey within it.

I just bought and unarchived it, 930 meg in 5 folders, no installer nonsense,
the 105 sfz files relate to the folder structure, for example, the processed drums folder
has 478 meg of .wav samples, so the sfz file will fetch it's content from there,
opening the sfz in a text editor shows that the path is part of the sfz file

so the unarchived folder structure should be maintained, it extracts these folders

processed
special processed
unprocessed
(these three folders are full of wav files, handily categorized by instrument.

drumits (Within the drumkits folder, are folders of proprietary files for
Kontact, Battery, Halion, Kong, NNXT, and the SFZ folder :)

And a docs folder for such things

Cheers

That is exactly how i myself categorize my soundfonts and samples.

I know and understand that many people gather many sounds in any type available, and if they are happy with it i am happy for them too.
My simple additional point was that a few good ones can be enough and do not need to be categorized at all.

These sfz drums are working OK in Carla, and in windows sforzando in wine/reaper.
In Carla you can drag & drop the sfz file to the main window,
in sforzando, you can configure the sfz folder to work from,
in the 'user-files-path:' dialog, and then select an sfz from
the Instrument select widget in the upper-left of the gui.

Also, Cakewalk Dimension Pro has sfz drag & drop on the second
'import' dialog down from the top, on the upper left. It will probably
have the best sfz support of any app. But the old Cakewalk
is gone, and the new owners seem uninterested in supporting
Dimension Pro for new registrations, or any future at all. :(

The sounds are not well suited for Grandmas chamber Orchestra,
and you might want to warn your cat before starting a new session

By the way. It is a very nice price. That is nothing to say about.

I've not heard of the Wave Alchemy company before, but they seem to
be well established, here's their website, with some sale prices,
and a discussion of one of their products:

https://www.wavealchemy.co.uk/

https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electro ... drums.html

And a Plugin Boutique account includes a cloud where all your purchases
are on a page, along with any serial numbers, or install data,
and can be referred to or re-downloaded without fuss. They also have an area where
some excellent freewares are available.
