Recent Videos produced with (AV) Linux
Hi LM friends!
Here are a few videos produced recently at our 'Bandshed Records" studio using AV Linux. Audio was recorded, mixed and mastered in Ardour and the Videos were edited with Cinelerra-GG.
My daughter and friend doing Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice it's Alright":
https://youtu.be/yaGshENUzi0
A live clip of MGV (Movin' Groovin' & Verhoeven) a band I've played in for almost 30 years and 2 of my closest friends doing T-Bone Walker's "Stormy Monday":
https://youtu.be/2oeMj1Jubsk
A live clip of Rated Blue doing our original tune "Man on A Wire". Lol, Camera battery died at the beginning of the solo...:
https://vimeo.com/298862022
2019 will be a big year of new and original music coming out of our little studio, I'll look forward to sharing it as we go, thanks for watching and comments and critiques are welcomed!
Glen

Looking and sounding great, Glen. Nice harmonies from your daughter and her friend and I'd like to have heard the rest of that solo. What do you use for the video stabilisation? It's quite a cool effect.

Nice tunes, and nice guitars! I have played a Telecaster since 2000, and I really love it. I have been wanting an f-hole arch-top for a while but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I couldn't tell which make/model you were playing in the clip, because your camera obscured the head of the guitar.
You are getting some great sounds out of your studio!

Hi,
Thanks to all for your generosity taking time to watch and comment.
@magicalex
Thanks, I'll pass your comments on. My kids have seen some of your Insta stuff...lol, I always joke if Sandy liked it it must have been decent. The motion shots are a Canon Alpha DSLR with a used motorized gimbal my son bought from a friend who upgraded, the gimbal is really amazing to use and the perceived image stabilization is just the motion dampening of the gimbal, I haven't used any plugins for that in Cinelerra although there has been a lot of work on the stabilization in Cin-GG. Our static cams are a couple of aging Zoom Q4HD's and my old Samsung Note4 smartphone which has always shot good HD video..
@milo
I've always been a tele guy too, as a trio player I love the simplicity of the switches and knobs and the nice range from nice round jazzy tones to that signature country twang.. The tele in the video is a actually a baritone built for me by a luthier friend and it's tuned B-B. The hollowbody is a 1968 Harmony H78. Dan Auerbach from 'The Black Keys' uses one as his main guitar. I love the Harmony too but it is a bit fragile and has very microphonic pickups so it just squeals if you use it with even the most mild fuzz or distortion pedals, I've even stuffed it with foam to no avail, it does sound very nice plugged straight into a tube amp and pushed a bit with a volume pedal though. It's kind of funny how all these old cheap plywood department store Harmony and Silvertone guitars are sought after now, I can hardly imagine the Wal-Mart guitars of today will become collectors items in 50 years...

Thanks for sharing these. Solid performances all around (as we have come to expect from you) but what's really cool when seeing them together is how they look so different from one another even if they were filmed in the same space. Each has its own vibe. What can't you do?!?!

Thanks for the compliment and the info, Glen. I was saying to my wife as I watching that I wish I could sit in on one of your sessions.GMaq wrote: I always joke if Sandy liked it it must have been decent. Don't Think Twice
Daughter and friend's smiles says it all - When musicians are enjoying them selves it add just that little extra.
Stormy Monday
Coooool performance. Clever vid.
Man on a Wire
Nice! Shame about the camera battery - must have been quite frustrating.
