Sitala drum plugin
Just found this, it's a cross platform drum machine. It's quite simple but has some handy features.

Re: Sitala drum plugin
This looks interesting, but it's not working on Debian Stable as it uses libc6 (>= 2.27).
Debian Stable libc6 version is 2.24-11+deb9u3.

Re: Sitala drum plugin
A download button says it's for Ubuntu 18.04, of course it's not working with older libc. I don't think they plan to release a version for older distros.lilith wrote:This looks interesting, but it's not working on Debian Stable as it uses libc6 (>= 2.27).

Re: Sitala drum plugin
Hi - this is Scott, one of the guys from Decomposer that make Sitala (and I'm the one that did the Linux package).
Sitala's always worked on Linux, but packaging / testing for Linux is complex relative to other platforms simply because there are so many different Linuxes one can target. That's why for now we just released a package for the most recent Ubuntu LTS, since that had up to now been the most requested distribution.
It's possible we'll include other Linux distributions at some point down the line. Mostly it depends on how much uptake we see on Linux in general. Right now packaging for just one Linux distribution is approximately as complicated as packaging for macOS or Windows, but as of today, our Linux package has a whopping ... 23 users (compared to hundreds on the other two platforms). Shipping for a large set of distros is unlikely unless those ratios change significantly.

It is packaged as a deb. Install that or extract it.Linuxmusician01 wrote:On the website they state that its standalone or VST yet I cannot download the VST...

Welcome && THX \o/scottwheeler wrote:Hi - this is Scott, one of the guys from Decomposer that make Sitala (and I'm the one that did the Linux package).
I unpacked the .deb and copied sitala-1.0.0-beta-1_amd64/usr/bin/sitala to my "~/.vst" folder.
Unfortunately sitala was not found after a scan of my DAW.
Is this (sitala-1.0.0-beta-1_amd64/usr/bin/sitala) the correct file and does it belong in the "~/.vst" folder?

That's the standalone version. You want the .so file.khz wrote: Is this (sitala-1.0.0-beta-1_amd64/usr/bin/sitala) the correct file and does it belong in the ".vst" folder?

Where should one place said .so file? In /usr/lib/ladspa/ or /usr/lib/lv2/, or ...?sysrqer wrote:Yes, that's it.

Re: Sitala drum plugin
Sitala.so is not found here with any host (Gentoo).

Re: Sitala drum plugin
It's a vst so it needs to go somewhere in your vst path.Linuxmusician01 wrote:Where should one place said .so file? In /usr/lib/ladspa/ or /usr/lib/lv2/, or ...?sysrqer wrote:Yes, that's it.
I'm not sure then, perhaps it needs some of the files from the standalone program. I installed with the deb so perhaps try putting the other files in the locations they would have gone.khz wrote:Sitala.so is not found here with any host (Gentoo).Linuxmusician01 wrote:Where should one place said .so file?
